Official Dress Code At Doncaster Race

In general the racecourse recommends something smart-casual, and discourage racegoers from wearing any sportswear or ripped jeans.

Premier Enclosure and the Home Straight Restaurant – A jacket for gentlemen is required with a tie as optional. Jeans and sportswear are not permitted in these areas. The dress code also applies to children. We  Say.. Most gentlemen will wear a suit. The weather is getting cooler so change to a winter suit in wool or a wool blend.

However if you choose tweed, then go for lightweight tweed such as Cording’s Elland Lightweight Tweed Jacket . Made of 100% wool and this Yorkshire tweed has a weight of only 12oz (370gsm), so is an ideal choice for the warmer autumn days. The tweed has a subtle light blue overcheck. £535.00 Add flair with a pocket square, their Blue Fine Cotton Spot Hank in light blue cotton with fine polka dots will enhance the jacket’s blue overcheck. £15.00. Match the jacket with  Elland Lightweight Tweed Trousers £215.00 and an additional layer for warmth plus extra dapperness, their matching Elland Lightweight Tweed Waistcoat £195.00. The waistcoat has a fob watch button hole, ready for Rapport London’s Mechanical Half Hunter Pocket Watch £260.00, featuring a finely engraved outer case and skeleton movement visible through the front viewing window. The half hunter closure allows for quick time reading while preserving the classic look of a covered case. Complete with a matching T bar chain and presented in a deluxe gift box. Choose a plain blue shirt to bring out the light blue overcheck in the suit or as per the image go more country style with Cordings Large Overcheck Tattersall Shirt with pale blue and orange overcheck. In 100% cotton £79.00. Add an equestrian touch with their Champion Horse Tie in red with a jockey/horse print. Made of 100% silk £69.00. Tweed always looks good with a pair of brogues, Oliver Sweeney Hunstanton brogues in dark tan with hand antiqued variation over the brogued seams, toe and heel. New this season, this brogue has an Oxford wingtip design in antique finished calf leather, with a new sturdy leather sole topped with rubber at the forepart. £259.00 Have fun with your socks and wear Cordings Horse Riding Sock in navy, £16.00.Accessorise with Deakin & Francis Signet Ring (12x10mm) in 9ct yellow gold with a pale blue Sardonyx gemstone £2,135.00 which can be engraved with your initials for an additional £60.00 or a family crest for an additional £300.00. Handmade in Birmingham and crafted using sustainably sourced Single Mine Origin gold. Top it all with Cordings Wool Felt Trilby in brown felt wool with a brown grosgrain ribbon band,  £125.00

County Enclosure, Conduit Restaurant, boxes, press and the Owners & Trainers areas- The only stipulation is that sportswear and offensive fancy dress are not permitted. However racegoers often choose to adopt a smarter style. The racecourse recommends, for example, smart jeans or tailored shorts and a collared shirt for gentlemen. Many racegoers opt to dress smartly for the occasion on feature race days such as the Futurity Trophy Weekend. For the County Enclosure – you need to call and check with Doncaster Racecourse first if you wish to come in fancy dress.
