Since its founding in 2006, Fashion Scout has supported over 1,500 designers from more than 70 countries. Alumni include Iris van Herpen, Peter Pilotto, David Koma, Eudon Choi, Phoebe English and Tolu Coker, while Ones To Watch alumni count Susan Fang, Maximilian Raynor and Orange Culture among their number. This anniversary season puts that legacy of discovery at the centre of London Fashion Week while looking firmly ahead to the next generation.

Here are a few of the latest ‘Ones To Watch’ designers specialising in menswear. 

CHATCHAI C. @chatchai.c___

Titled The Crimson Flash the collection is inspired by the Hong Kong Jockey Club. Crimson Flash is an Australian thoroughbred race horse, trained by Mark Newnham who is renowned for his success in Hong Kong.

One sleeve of an oversized aviator jacket is embellished with jockeys on horses and the other sleeve with the Hong Kong Jockey Club name and logo. Numbers from the betting die also adorn the sleeves and the shoulder at the back.  The patterns on the trousers and shirt are inspired by the racing silks. A leather coat is adorned with jockey and horse silhouettes, whilst straps wrap around the leather trousers. A leather gilet inspired by the jockey’s protective vest, covers a third jacket, The gilet is decorated with the playing card club sign and straps, maybe representing the horse’s bridle.  

Founded by designer Chatchai Chaitrakulthong who trained at University of Westminster, Istituto Marangoni Shanghai, and on Savile Row,. He honed his skills working at Givenchy in Paris before building his eponymous label. By pairing disciplined British tailoring traditions with modern material innovation, the brand presents a sophisticated vision of contemporary luxury where heritage craftsmanship meets modern elegance. His craft spans structural pattern cutting, bespoke tailoring techniques, leather bag and footwear construction.

ADOLF MALDONADO @__maldonado__a  

Titled Mantidae-Falsa Primavera, meaning Praying Mantis – Fake Spring

Inspired by the diverse beauty of the praying mantis species observed through macro photography, hence the first part of the name. Maldonado translated their intricate textures, complex structures, and essence of the insect world into couture. Colour palette of green and brown, the natural colours of the mantis, The Falsa Primavera part of the collection is a commentary of climate change, where the boundaries between spring and summer become increasingly unstable. Responding to the environmental impact of plastic and mass production, Maldonado advocates for slow fashion through deadstick and 100% ethically sourced natural materials. Each piece fuses traditional and contemporary sewing techniques, bringing together craftsmanship, structure and innovation. The fringe trousers feature over 3,500 handsewn fringe threads making them one of the most time- consuming pieces the designer has produced.

Adolf Maldonado is a London-based Spanish fashion designer. His collections create bold statement pieces defined by architectural silhouettes and tactile surfaces inspired by nature and its intricate structures. Specialising in leather and tailoring, Maldonado’s practice combines material innovation with artisanal technique, reimagining timeless garments through a contemporary vision of menswear couture. Each piece emerges from deep research and a considered design process, where traditional couture techniques meet a modern approach to structure, form and proportion.
